American Mathematics Competitions
The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are prestigious nationwide programs that form the entry-level leading to the famous Putnam Competition and USA Mathematical Olympiad. As Marin’s own nonprofit dedicated to the learning needs of bright, curious young people, MVGATE is proud to offer the AMC in open session to Marin’s students in middle school (AMC8) and high school (AMC10, AMC12). "Open session" means we welcome all kids: public-school, private-school, home-school, you name it. Over 200 local kids have enjoyed a brain-stretching challenge, tasted serious math, and met interesting peers from all over the Bay Area. Sixteen have won national honors. Several have gotten job offers from MVGATE, to mentor other kids! |
