MV GATE’s programs have attracted national attention by engaging thousands of families and kids in a uniquely collaborative non-profit model. We call our model “Community Powered Learning.” It consists of mobilizing parents and older students to help teach computer science and more to our kids. Our family Hour of Code Nights at participating schools lead to after-school enrichment classes. These classes are led by professional MV GATE instructors, with teaching teams complemented by paid and volunteer Coaches and Volunteers from the school community. Everyone wins in this great community experience -- Parents, college, high school, and even middle schoolers.
